Book Award Presentation

The Fort Lee Public Library has been awarded the twenty-fourth annual New Jersey Council for the Humanities (NJCH) Book Award Collection. The library is one of five noteworthy institutions in the state of NJ to be awarded the collection of eighteen titles that were nominated by thirteen publishers from across the country. As in competitions past, these books demonstrate the extraordinary breadth of the humanities and insights of many gifted authors. Executive Director of NJCH, Sharon Ann Holt will be presenting the titles to the Library on September 6th at 2pm.

Winning title: J.D. Salinger: A Life by Kenneth Slawenski. Honor Books include: Final Jeopardy : Man vs. Machine and the Quest to Know Everything; Jersey Justice : The Story of the Trenton Six. All eighteen titles will be available for check out from the Fort Lee Public Library.

NJCH is a nonprofit organization funded primarily by the National Endowment for the Humanities, with additional support from private and corporate funders. Publicizing Council-related events provides a much needed focus on the positive impact of these funds on the lives of countless New Jerseyans.
