Fort Lee Thomas Paine Statue Fundraising Dinner

This Fort Lee Common Sense Society fundraiser will help complete our fundraising efforts to erect a statue to Revolutionary War patriot Thomas Paine in Fort Lee's historic Monument Park - this is the location where Paine lived as an American soldier / adjutant with General Washington's Army in 1776 and where he began to write The American Crisis. All ticket purchases are tax deductible. Tickets are $76 and you can inquire at (201) 693-2763 or email ftleefilm@aol.com to reserve your seats. Honorees this year are Fort Lee VFW Commander James Viola and Fort Lee Historical Society member Kay Nest.  The Fort Lee Common Sense Society is a group of local Revolutionary War history buffs from such organizations as the Fort Lee Historical Society, Chamber of Commerce, Fort Lee Historic Committee and Fort Lee Film Commission who seek to celebrate Fort Lee's role in the American Revolution through the creation of a statue of patriot / writer Thomas Paine who was part of General Washington's Army here in Fort Lee in that fateful year of 1776.
