Chris Carter

“Understanding
color is a lifelong journey. It was only when I turned my study into play that
the world of color opened up to me. What a joy!”

The Color
Scheme Game evolved from Chris Carterʼs need to know which tubes of paint
to carry in her pockets when traveling. If limited to three tubes of paint,
what would they be? She now uses the game as a morning meditation and a playful
way to expand her knowledge and application of color as it relates to all
painting, whether representational or abstract.

The drawings
on exhibit during the months of September and October are from the artist’s
collection of morning studies.  The
subject matter may be ordinary objects from the kitchen, family treasures from
her childhood, potted herbs, trumpet parts, tools, glass inkwells or anything
else within reach.

Carter will
present an abbreviated version of her Color Scheme Game on October 22nd from
6:30 to 8:30 (registration required: 201.592.3614, ext 4010) Beginners to
advanced painters are welcome.  For more
