Severe Storms Expected in Bergen County

National Weather Service warns of thunderstorms, flooding.

Forecasters are warning of severe weather across North Jersey Wednesday.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 12:45 p.m. for Bergen County. Winds gusts of up 70 mph are possible along with hail and lightning, forecasts say. 

The National Weather Service had issued a tornado warning until 12:15 p.m. for Bergen County.  While there is no immediate risk, a tornado could still develop, according to an alert issued by county government.

There is also a risk of flash flooding in Bergen County, the weather service says. 

Forecasts also predict severe weather across the state's 21 counties.
