Police Arrest Brooklyn Man in Alleged Parking Lot Theft

A Brooklyn man was charged with theft and resisting arrest Wednesday evening after he allegedly grabbed a woman’s purse in the Linwood Plaza parking lot and tried to make a run for it, police said. But it was thanks to the to the vigilance of two people who saw something and said something and called the police, as well as some nifty police and K-9 work, that Eliano Auborg was arrested.

Fort Lee Woman Accused of Prostitution Pleads Not Guilty

A Fort Lee woman charged with prostitution after an undercover sting of a Morris Plains spa entered a not guilty plea Tuesday in Municipal Court. Kim O. Hye, 54, was arrested at the VIP Spa Thursday following a five-month investigation by the Morris Plains detective bureau that police said involved the VIP Spa at 1745 Route 10 East.

Bergen County’s River Road/Hudson Waterfront Corridor Strategy is a study that aims to  “plan and develop a series of multi-modal strategies to improve mobility, accessibility, safety and quality of life along the River Road Corridor” in Edgewater and Fort Lee.

Fort Lee Police Accepting Unwanted Prescription Drugs Saturday

The Fort Lee Police Department partnered with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Saturday, offering the residents another chance “to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangers expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.”

Bergen County Holds Italian Flag Raising Ceremony

Bergen County Executive Kathleen A. Donovan and the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders presented an Italian Flag Raising ceremony at the Bergen County Administration Building in Hackensack Friday as a kickoff to celebrating October as Italian-American Heritage month. It was also in celebration of the fifth annual Columbus Day Parade of North Jersey that takes place Sunday.
