A man who raped and murdered a New Milford woman in 1976 is up for parole for the fifth time, and her family is asking the public's help to once again make sure he doesn't become a free man.

Phillip Hermida, 53, of Wyckoff was charged with trying to kill two police officers by repeatedly attempting to run them down with his car in the parking lot of a Hawthorne Dunkin' Donuts.

New Milford Man Charged With Animal Cruelty

John Hall, 49, of New Milford, who allegedly hunted geese with a crossbow at Hardcastle Pond was arrested Wednesday by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Animal Cruelty Task Force and New Milford Police Department and charged with animal cruelty.
