Fort Lee Man Charged With Threatening to Shoot Police

Police responded to the same address on Hudson Terrace twice early Wednesday morning on noise complaints. The resident allegedly said he'd shoot the next officers who came to the house, according to Fort Lee police.

Luring Attempt of 10-Year-Old Girl in Inwood Terrace Park Reported

An unknown man in a dark blue sedan attempted to lure a 10-year-old girl at Inwood Terrace Park on Monday by asking her to get into the vehicle and help him look for his dog, Detective Sergeant Ken Porrino said.

Fort Lee GOP to Host Final School Board Debate

The debate will take place Thursday evening, Nov. 1, at the Fort Lee Public Library. The United Republican Club of Fort Lee president says the debate will not be partisan, but one candidate has yet to accept the group’s invitation.

Fort Lee Homeowners Announce BOE Debate TV Dates

The United Homeowners of Fort Lee-sponsored Fort Lee Board of Education candidates’ debate, which took place Oct. 17 at Lewis F. Cole Middle School, will air on cable television on Thursday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 3, United Homeowners president Diane Sicheri announced this week.

The first Johnny Damato Donor Awareness Drive for Bergen County took place last Sunday at the Fort Lee Recreation Center. The drive was the brainchild of Fort Lee's Johnny Damato, 16, of Fort Lee, who received a life-saving heart transplant in June from which he continues to face a difficult road to recovery.

Water Main Break Affects As Many as 200

United Water officials said service disruption, which lasted all day last Saturday, was limited to one building—201 Bridge Plaza North—and that cast iron water mains are outdated.

Colorado Truck Driver Charged With Toll Evasion at GWB

A Colorado truck driver was charged last Saturday in connection with allegedly trying to evade tolls at the George Washington Bridge. Port Authority officials allege the driver had a sign that said “new trailer in transit” where a license plate should have been.

Port Authority electrician Chris Bonanno, whose sister has breast cancer, had the idea to light up the New York/New Jersey span with pink necklace lights every night in October. Bonanno spoke with Fort Lee Patch this week.
