BOE President Steps Down, Missing Mother, Children Found In Top Fort Lee News

School Board President Arthur Levine announced his resignation from the board of education this week. Levine, who has served on the Board since 2007 and was elected president in 2011, said that he was resigning from the board due to time constraints.

A mother and her three children were found safe on Tuesday, a day after they were reported missing in Fort Lee, police said.

A sewer line break in Tarrytown, New York has resulted in several million gallons of chlorinated raw sewage to be released into the Hudson River just in time for Saturday's Ironman Challenge.

Officials from Ironman released a statement Friday afternoon announcing that the 2.4 mile Hudson River swim was on after a sewer line break the previous days put the event in question.

A 38-year-old Union City man was arrested early Thursday morning on 15th Street in connection with two car break-ins in Palisades Park and Fort Lee near 15th Street, police said.

Authorities were investigating an accident involving a pedestrian on Central Boulevard, at Anderson Avenue, Friday night, the state transportation department reported.
