Fort Lee Chamber Goes Regional With New Name

The organization formerly known as is now called The Fort Lee Regional Chamber of Commerce (FLRCC), a name change that was adopted in April and went into effect a month later.

The change came in response to the Chamber’s recent expansion of its catchment area, including a January with the Ridgefield Merchants Association.

FLRCC now draws members from throughout Bergen and upper Hudson Counties. Members are from Fort Lee and surrounding Bergen County towns, as well as towns along the Hudson River’s north-south “Gold Coast” and west along the Route 4 corridor, according to Chamber officials.

“The Chamber has grown enormously since its founding in 1950, and today, nearly one half of its member businesses are outside of Fort Lee, which makes it a truly regional organization,” said FLRCC Kenneth Bruno in a statement. “Our new name reflects our inclusivity in terms of serving business owners and solo practitioners from throughout the entire area.”

The FLRCC Board of Directors also recently appointed a new executive director, business performance coach Margaret Maclay of Edgewater, the Chamber announced.

In her new role, Maclay, who has been an active member for several years, supervises “all aspects of the Chamber’s operations,” according to the board.

That includes advising committees, coordinating growth strategies and initiatives with the board, recruiting new members and serving existing ones.
