Fort Lee Photos: Tymon of Athens

Shakespeare in the Park is nearing an end, as the Hudson Shakespeare Company gave the first of two performances that will wrap up the season

Tymon of Athens is based on an actual historical figure from Greece's classical age, which Shakespeare decided to use for another tragic hero. When researching the source material for his Anthony and Cleopatra, Shakespeare came across the story Timon the Misanthrope. This is the story of man who goes from rich philanthropist to a jaded hermit and how his loss of station and friends affect him.

There will be a repeat performance of Tymon's of Athens next Tuesday Aug. 23, at 7:30 p.m. wrapping up Fort Lee's annual "Shakespeare in the Park" for this year.
