The Fort Lee Library will be offering several poetry classes through the month of January.
Each Tuesday in January, Linda Baldanzi will host "Bring a Poem, Read a Poem.”
Baldanzi, a published poet, will lead a discussion of poems in which participants will bring a poem and read it to the group. Participants are also invited to share a brief synopsis about the poet, according to the library’s website.
Anyone interested in attending who doesn’t being a poem, the instructor will provide poems. Short discussions about the poems will be encouraged each reading. The discussions will take place at 2 p.m. on January 14, 21, and 28 in the Fort Lee Library’s Lower Level Meeting Room.
Each Thursday in January, Baldanzi will lead a poetry workshop in which anyone 17 years and older can read poems they’ve written.
“This workshop offers you a chance to read your poems to others in the workshop, and to receive constructive feedback from others as well as from the instructor,” according to the library website. “We will explore what the poem is saying and how its structure contributes to its various meanings.”
The workshops will take place on January 16, 23, and 30 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lower Level Meeting Room.
