Tatyana Gomelskaya, exhibit

Fort Lee Library will be exhibiting the works of Tatyana Gomelskaya during the month of September in The Gallery located in the lower level.

About the Artist : In 1993 at the age of five, Tatyana Gomelskaya emigrated from St. Petersburg, Russia.  Encouraged by her artistically inclined mother, she began painting early in life. As a result, Tatyana’s artistic endeavors led her to SUNY Purchase, graduating in 2010 earning a B.F.A. While attending Purchase she shared her gifts and knowledge by teaching her craft to children as well as some of her colleagues. Although very much Americanized, being raised in a Russian household was something that rooted Tatyana’s art work and shaped what it is today. Her paintings focus mainly on figures and portraits inspired by her family. Her interests include the conversation of a simple gaze, the psychologically charged space between two figures, as well as the confrontation of the viewer. She is also interested in objects as figures and personification of personal items. In depicting her interests she explores them with expressive and realistic painting techniques, while continuing to uncover new possibilities.

The Gallery is open during library hours. For more information please visit our website
