Reel Jersey Girl Film Tribute to Cliffhanger Star Pearl White

Fort Lee Film Commission and Palisade Interstate Park Present: Reel Jersey Girl Film Festival - March 4th at 1:30 PM at the Fort Lee Historic Park Theatre
This 3-part film festival, free to the public, kicks off on Sunday, March 4th at 1:30 PM at the Fort Lee Historic Park Museum Theatre - the mark is located on Hudson Terrace at the intersection of Bruce Reynolds Blvd.  This opening program will include a slide show and film presentation on Cliffhanger star Pearl White.  March 4th is Pearl's birthday so we will celebrate with this program atop the cliffs she made famous around the world.   Palisade Interstate Park Historical Interpreter Eric Nelsen and Fort Lee Film Commission Executive Director Tom Meyers will discuss Pearl's career and introduce these film segments.  We will screen Chapter one in the 1914 movie serial The Perils of Pauline.  We will also screen a short clip from the 1918 movie serial House of Hate.  This film exists only in the Moscow Archive in Russia and the Fort Lee Film Commission was able to get this clip from the archivists in that film library.
Also, at 10:30 Am on Sunday March 4th, join Palisade Interstate Park's Eric Nelsen on a hike to Cliffhanger Point where Pearl White shot many of her films including the iconic House of Hate.  The hike is free to the public and starts at the Fort Lee Historic Park parking lot off Hudson Terrace at 10:30 AM.  Upcoming programs include the April 20th 8 PM Theda Bara program at the Fort Lee Historic Park Theatre - we will screen the documentary The Woman with the Hungry Eyes which details the career of this first sex symbol of the silver screen.  On May 4th at 8 PM at the Fort Lee Historic Park Theatre we will screen films of Alice Guy Blache, the first woman director and owner of Solax Studio in Fort Lee.  For further info call the Fort Lee Film Commission at (201) 693-2763 or visit www.fortleefilm.org.
