Bergen County Singer Impresses on 'The Voice'

The Fort Lee vocalist will be coached by multi-platinum singer-songwriter Usher.

A bilingual vocalist looking to become America’s next big star joined team Usher on the latest episode of The Voice.

Fort Lee’s Melissa Jimenez, 29. wowed both Usher and Shakira on the NBC vocal talent show, but ultimately chose to join the R&B star’s team.

Jimenez sang the 2004 Alicia Keys hit “If I Ain’t Got You” in English and Spanish, which impressed Usher.

The 35-year-old singer noted Jimenez’s “diversity” and “many different dimensions to who she will become as an artist”

“Usher got a good one,” Shakira said.

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. on NBC.
