Viewfinder: Church of the Good Shepherd's Stations of the Earth
Welcome to View Finder. Each week we'll post a photo gallery that takes a look at the community through the camera lens. This week, we have images from Fort Lee's Church of the Good Shepherd-lead "Stations of the Earth" event.
On Friday, members of Fort Lee’s combined the celebration of Good Friday with Earth Day in an event called “Stations of the Earth.”
The event, in which participants took to Fort Lee’s streets, saying prayers, reading scripture and picking up litter along the way, was a way to reflect upon the suffering and death of Jesus and connect it with the suffering of our environment.
Rev. Allison Moore, Pastor of The Church of the Good Shepherd in Fort Lee, told Patch columnist Ann Piccirillo she wanted to add something to the traditional Good Friday events most churches hold.

“I wanted to make the Stations of the Cross contemporary and relevant,” Moore said.
Moore led the procession of about a dozen men, women, children and two puppies from the church, along Palisades Ave., up Martha Washington Way, around Bridge Plaza, down Lemoine Ave. to Main St. and back to the church.
