Thousands Lose Power in Southern Bergen County

Thousands of people were without power in Fort Lee and surrounding areas for about 3 hours Thursday morning after wires came down on Van Nostrand Avenue in Englewood, officials said.

Widespread outages were reported in Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, Fort Lee and Tenafly, according to a Public Service Electric and Gas spokeswoman.

Crews were working to fix the problem and service was restored around 9:15 a.m., a spokeswoman said. The outage was first reported around 6:15 a.m.
