Shelter Holding Stray Dog Found in Edgewater

The animal was found on June 25 and will be held for one week to give the owners a chance to reclaim their pet.

A volunteer with the Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro says the shelter currently has a stray dog on hold that was picked up in Edgewater.

The dog, a female Pit Bull Terrier, was found on June 25, and proof of ownership is required to reclaim the animal, according to the shelter.

Strays are held for a week to give owners the opportunity to reclaim their pets. During that time, they cannot be adopted or rescued.

If you think the animal (ID No. 85814) is yours or might know whom it belongs to, you are urged to contact the Bergen County Animal Shelter, located at 100 United Lane in Teterboro at 201-229-4600.
