Shelter Holding Stray Dog Found in Edgewater

The animal was found on June 25 and will be held for one week to give the owners a chance to reclaim their pet.

A volunteer with the Bergen County Animal Shelter in Teterboro says the shelter currently has a stray dog on hold that was picked up in Edgewater.

The dog, a female Pit Bull Terrier, was found on June 25, and proof of ownership is required to reclaim the animal, according to the shelter.

Strays are held for a week to give owners the opportunity to reclaim their pets. During that time, they cannot be adopted or rescued.
