Meet McGruber and Take Home a Yogurt

This week's featured pets at the county animal shelter located in Teterboro

Cats:

The shelter describes Fonnie as:

A small, senior female cat.  Fonnie came to the shelter when her owner could no longer bend down to clean or feed her. It must have been very sad for her owner to surrender her beloved pet.  I'm sure that Fonnie is looking for her past owner as well.  She is a very friendly, sweet and loving cat. She is up to date with shots and will get a microchip before leaving the shelter. Can you open your heart to this sweet senior and give her a loving home for her golden years?

The shelter describes Yogurt as:

Yogurt aka "Yo" is a very very sweet girl. She is seven years old and looks like she is still a growing kitty. She came from a home that had other cats. She is a really great cat. Yogurt keeps her fur super silky and loves attention. She is up to date with shots and has tested negative for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia. She will get a microchip before leaving the shelter.

Dogs:

The shelter describes Pauly as:

Pauly came to us because his owners could no longer have him. This nine year old sweetie can be a little unsure at times, but we believe once he becomes comfortable he will begin to bond. He has a good history with other dogs so we would be delighted to perform dog-to-dog introductions here at the shelter. Because he is nervous at first sight, we are recommending a home with no children. He has lived in a home all his life, so it is no wonder why he is so nervous here. But we have seen progress and we are confident that once he gets home, he will be a sweetheart. Don't let his age deter you from meeting Pauly. He still has quite a few years left in him and he, just like the others, deserves to find a home to live out his golden years. Pauly will make a wonderful companion for a family willing to offer him lots and lots of love and affection.

The shelter describes McGruber as:

Silly McGruber is anything but serious. A rambunctious pup, McGruber came to us as a stray. But he could care less. This hyper one-year old has energy, personality and good looks. He is curious about everything and anything and will definitely take control if he is able. Because this is one strong willed youngster, we are looking for a family who have experience with high energy breeds who can guarantee McGruber will get all the exercise he needs. Talk about torque! McGruber does not stop and will need physical as well as mental stimulation so he gets all that extra energy released. We are truly looking for a very active family for this tough guy because he may take advantage of your belongings if he does not remain active. Because he is still young, he will most likely need basic obedience training as well as lots of socialization. This handsome fellow will need to be able to learn how to be respectful of others.

, Westwood:

Bogart and Peaches are the sweetest Maine Coon mix brother and sister, who have been shuffled around multiple times, and need a permanent home. As baby kittens they were left behind in a college dorm room to fend for themselves or starve. They were rescued early last summer and stayed with a foster family until they were adopted in the fall. Sadly the person who adopted them just lost their job and can't keep Bogart and Peaches. Bogart (male) is a mixture of Maine Coon and Norwegian Forest and Peaches (female) is Maine Coon and Calico mix. Both are loving and playful; making them ideal family pets. It would be really nice if they could be adopted together, but if they go separately, they would adapt to another cat and make friends quickly. They are less than a year old, healthy and have been spayed/neutered and microchipped. For more information, call 201-666-5444 or e-mail care4strays@yahoo.com.
