Library Offers Online Tool to Help Residents Find ‘Sustainable Employment’

Career Transitions walks residents through the entire employment process.

The is now offering an online advanced career service tool designed to help patrons find sustainable jobs—even people with little or no experience using technology.

The local public library was able to get the Career Transitions database, “a guided, self-paced program” that walks you through the whole employment process, thanks to the New Jersey State Library, which purchased technology for Fort Lee after receiving a federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP) grant, according to library officials.

“Every day, more than 300,000 Americans get job-seeking help at their local public library, and they need efficient tools to help them find work,” said library director Rita Altomara. “With Career Transitions, Fort Lee residents will be able to find the answers they need to improve their chances of finding sustainable employment, whether they are dealing with job loss, re-training needs or looking for new career paths.”
