Hey Paapii! Meet Marlene, Mindy & Sully

This week's featured pets at the county animal shelter in Teterboro

This week at the Bergen County Animal Shelter there are many pets who are looking for a great home to call their own but these are the featured pets of the week.

Dogs:

Paapii is a 12 pound picture of cuteness. He may be a little shy and unsure at first, but he warms up quite nicely. It may take him a bit of time to adjust to a new home so adopters will have to be patient with this Pomeranian mix. His owners weren't able to take him along when they moved so he is here now waiting for a family that can guarantee him a good and stable lifestyle. Because he is quite timid, we are looking for a family with no kids because they may overwhelm him. We have seen a playful side to Paapii, but it seems like he still is a bit shy to let that come through. We are hopeful that once he settles into his new home, he will be delighted to entertain you. We have seen a boost in self-esteem since his day at Bark N' Purr in Teaneck, a local groomer that helps us when our animals need a spa day. His fur and attitude are now glowing. He does take his food bowl pretty seriously, though. The family who adopts him will have to address this issue because he may eventually begin to guard things of higher value. This can all be explained here at the shelter if you are interested in seeing Paapii. Don't let this deter you from checking this handsome guy out. Paapii should become a wonderful and respectful companion for a family that can offer him the right training and guidance.

The shelter describes Marlene as:

Enticing Marlene came to us as a stray and will, undoubtedly, capture your heart at first sight. She will approach you, no questions asked, and act as if she has known you her whole life. This undersized ball of love is ready to flaunt her ravishingly good looks, as well as her amazing personality. She does look great and probably feels even better, thanks to the folks over at Pet Spa in Little Ferry. Because Marlene has such a sweet and affectionate personality, we are not looking for a particular family, just as long as you can provide with her lots of TLC and guidance. Spoiling for this girl should be out of the question. Even though the temptation is there, owners will have to learn to say "no." Regular grooming will also be a necessity if you want to keep Marlene lookin' oh so good.

Cats:

The shelter describes Sully as:

Sully is a very sweet three to four year old guy. He has a slender build and is very handsome. He gets along well with most of the other shelter cats. Sully is up to date with shots and has tested negative for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia. He will get a microchip before leaving the shelter.

The shelter describes Mindy as:

Mindy is a sweet kitty. She is a very petite one to two year old cat. Mindy is up to date with shots and has tested negative for Feline Aids and Feline Leukemia. She will get a microchip before leaving the shelter.

Also from Caring About The Strays (C.A.T.S.) in Westwood

has Sadie, a Turkish Van/Calico mix, up for adoption. She and another cat were dumped outside and abandoned to live a short, horrible life on the streets. Fortunately they were rescued by C.A.T.S., medically treated and neutered. Sadie is a young 1- to 2-year-old, very friendly, with beautiful long hair. Although predominantly white, that tail that she carries so proudly looks like it might belong to someone else! Sadie has been spayed and is up to date with vaccines; she’s also friendly with other cats. Sadie would love to become a member of a family that will appreciate, love and take care of her. Contact C.A.T.S. at 201-6665444 if you're interested or visit www.care4strays.org.
