Fort Lee Resident Among Top 25 Family, Mom Bloggers

Estelle Sobel Erasmus of Fort Lee finished in eighth place in Circle of Moms' competition for her blog "Musings on Motherhood and Mid-Life."

A blog written by an award-winning journalist from Fort Lee has been named among Circle of Moms' Top 25 Family Blogs by a Mom.

Estelle Sobel Erasmus’s blog, Musings on Motherhood and Mid-Life, came in eighth out of 126 blogs competing for the honor.

The contest was hosted by the website Circle of Moms, which has 6 million members. The top 25 winners are featured on the site and receive a badge for their blog that links to the Top 25 contest page. The top 25 also get to participate in Circle of Mom’s expert Question and Answer session and the Round Up editorial platform, Erasmus previously told Patch.

In an interview with Circle of Moms, Erasmus said that what “surprised her most about motherhood” was that she had to “totally reinvent” herself.

“Everything changed,” she said in the interview. “My career, my body, the way I felt about myself, my circle of friends, my interest in politics and mothers' and women's issues—just every aspect of my life was touched by this enormous transition.”

Erasmus was named a 2012 BlogHer Voice of the Year and also performed her original work in the show, “Listen to Your Mother.”

She has written for hundreds of publications and websites and has upcoming pieces on Mamapedia and Kveller.com.
