Fort Lee Library Needs Volunteers For 'Reading Buddies' Program

Seventh through 12th graders are needed for community service project

The is currently seeking students in grades seven through 12 to volunteer for this fall’s “Reading Buddies Program.”

The program, which takes place on Monday afternoons from Nov. 14 to Dec. 5, pairs teens with first through third graders to read together at the library.

Participation in the program “requires no special experience or education; just enthusiasm,” said Young Adult Services Librarian Julia Strohmeyer in announcing the need for volunteers.

“If any local teens are interested in becoming someone a younger child can look up to while earning some community service hours in a fun and easy way, please contact the library by Nov. 10,” she said.
