83rd Annual Feast of Saint Rocco

Tradition kicked off Wednesday as the 83rd annual Feast of St. Rocco opened on lower Main Street

Much has changed in town since the first feast of St. Rocco, 83 years ago. What hasn't changed is that after all these years it's still held on lower Main Street, albeit around the corner on Martha Washington Way--a street that was once back yard and front stoop to many old Fort Lee families.

If you are a part of the Facebook group "I Grew Up In Fort Lee" then you know that many of its 1860 members are going to try and meet up at the feast this weekend.

Aside from the rides, games and live bands, there are so many food vendors to choose from. Johnny Meatballs, Joey Pizza, Cupcake Cutie, sausage and peppers, zeppoles, and so much more.

Sunday is the traditional procession of the statue where the members of the Saint Rocco Society carry St. Rocco from lower Main Street to John Street and back again. As the procession returns to lower Main Street, the "running of the statue” takes place and St. Rocco comes to rest at the church.
