Rotary Club of The Palisades Expands its Traditional Leonia Oktoberfest
The Rotary Club of The Palisades is hosting its 14th annual Leonia Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 4-10pm.
Leonia Oktoberfest is a fundraiser for Rotary's Weekend Snack Pack Program, which provides students who qualify for free or reduced priced lunches in Leonia's Anna C. Scott School and Edgewater's George Washington School with take-home packages of healthy foods to eat over the weekends.
For 2013, the event is expanding to the American Legion at 399 Broad Avenue in Leonia and will feature a selection of local beers, German-style food, other snacks and soft drinks, plus games and entertainment. Special guest Michael Hinton, former Grateful Dead drummer, will be performing with a special oom-pah ensemble. This is a family event, with food and drink for all, activities for kids, and traditional German competitions with real Bavarian prizes!
