The Effect of the Minimum Wage on the Economy, a League of Women Voters of Northern Valley forum, will be presented on Wednesday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m., at the Closter Public Library Community Room, 280 High St., Closter, New Jersey.  The forum will provide voters with information to make an informed decision about the New Jersey Minimum Wage Increase Amendment, Public Question 2 (SCR1) that will appear on the November 5, 2013 ballot.  The event is free and open to the public.

The presenters will be Gordon MacInnes and Michael Saltsman.  Lucy Heller from the League of Women Voters of Northern Valley will serve as moderator.

MacInnes is President of New Jersey Policy Perspective (NJPP), a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that has done extensive research on the issue of Minimum Wage and how this affects the economy.  A fellow at The Century Foundation in New York, he was previously a lecturer at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
