The Mid Bergen Rotary is hard at work providing support to the families of active duty, national guards and members of the military, veterans with a military discharge and families of military personnel who lost their lives during active service.
The Rotary Military Family Assistance Center (Rotary MFAC) is run by Thomas Shea and Carl Hassett. The primary goal of the center is to provide food and supplies to military families that have found themselves in financially difficult situations. Finding jobs for those veterans who are currently out of work is also very high on the list at this time.
The center opened in February 2012 and provided assistance to six families. With each passing month the number of military families in need has grown. Tom and Carl can be found packing orders on the second and fourth Friday of each month at the warehouse in Rutherford. The food and supplies are then distributed the next day at the Rutherford American Legion Post at 58 Meadow Road. Qualified families can pick up the supplies at 10 a.m.
This program is growing every month and the two men are always looking for volunteers and donations to help out the military family network. If you are interested or care to donate, or if you are in need of assistance, you can contact Tom at email@example.com and Carl at firstname.lastname@example.org
Some of the supplies that are always needed are: canned fruits and vegetables, canned tuna, toothpaste and hygiene items, toilet paper and paper products, cereals, soups and baby diapers.
If you or your organization can help out in any way, please contact Tom or Carl.
Lets help out, your country needs you.
