Pascrell Vows to Protect Social Security at Teaneck Forum [POLL]

Republican challenger says he is open to suggestions on increasing retirement age.

Rep. Bill Pascrell touted his record on social security, Medicare and Medicaid at a forum at the Richard Rodda Center in Teaneck Tuesday, NJ.com reported.

Pascrell, a Democrat, faces Republican challenger Rabbi Shmuley Boteach for the 9th district congressional seat. The pair sparred in a debate in Passaic on Monday.

The congressman also vowed not to privatize social security.

Boteach has said he is “open to suggestions” about raising the retirement age and cited the cost of entitlements in the federal budget, the report said. Both candidates have said the nation needs a bipartisan solution to the issues facing social security.

Shmuley Boteach seems more easy to work with, open to new ideas and suggestions, and there is less controversy surrounding him. What we need in Congress right now is someone flexible which seems to me, to be Boteach.

Yeah of course don't privatize it because people get such a great return on it now.
