Longtime Fort Lee favorite Franco’s Metro is trying something new starting Sunday. They’re offering Sunday brunch, which will continue every Sunday thereafter from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
General manager Gene Bazzarelli said the restaurant will be offering “traditional breakfast items with a Franco’s Italian-American twist.”
Some of those items include homemade salmon and asparagus egg frittata, French toast stuffed with Mascarpone cheese and fresh berries and “breakfast pizzas.”
Of course there will be traditional brunch cocktails as well, such as Bloody Marys, Bellinis, Mimosas and more
“We’ve never done it; for 40 years, we’ve always done the lunch and dinner routine,” Bazzarelli said. “And we think there’s a real opportunity on Sundays to kind of keep people in town and provide an atmosphere where everybody knows each other.”
He added, “That’s kind of the way it is here now anyway.”
Bazzarelli called the brunch menu “really nice” and “really well put together.”
“It kind of carries the theme of Franco’s with the fresh food and fresh preparation,” he said. “It’s Italian touches on brunch so we think it’s going to be great for us.”
Bazzarelli said reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling 201-461-6651.
Last week Franco’s Metro announced that it would donate 15 percent of the check for three days in early November—Nov. 5, 6 and 7—to the family of 16-year-old Johnny Damato of Fort Lee, who is recovering from a heart transplant, during an event called “Dining for Johnny,” a flyer for which is available on the restaurant’s website and Facebook page.
