In Affluent Bergen County Town, Burglaries on the Rise

Ridgewood police are reminding citizens to take more precautions to limit the increasing number of burglaries in the village.

According to police, two Gateway Road homes on Sept. 25 were hit by thieves. Police say one resident reported computer equipment was grabbed and cash was taken from a purse in the home. The home was entered through an unlocked door, police said.

Four Mahwah Teens Charged In Connection With Alleged Arson

Four Mahwah High School students have been charged as juveniles in connection with an alleged burglary and arson in the Ridge Gardens condo complex Wednesday night, Mahwah police said Friday afternoon.

Three 14-year-olds and one 16-year-old are being charged with arson, burglary, theft and criminal mischief, Chief James Batelli said. One of the 14-year-olds is being additionally charged with hindering apprehension, he said. 

Report: Clementi Family Elects Not to Sue Rutgers, Ravi

Family to focus energy on foundation created in name of their son, The Star-Ledger is reporting.

The family of Tyler Clementi will not be suing his former college roommate, Rutgers University or anyone else involved in the spycam scandal many believe played a role in Clementi's high profile suicide in 2010, according to reports. 

Englewood Company Recalls Popcorn Over Listeria Risk

Englewood-based Dale and Thomas Popcorn is recalling about 700,000 bags of popcorn because of possible listeria contamination, according to the company and a published report.  

Snack Stand Drug Dealer, Teaneck Shooter Charged in Drug Sweep, Police Say

Authorities have charged 18 people from around the region as part of a months long investigation into drug sales, gambling and violent crime in the Englewood-area. 

One of those nabbed in the sweep was a seasonal parks worker who was dealing ecstasy from a concession stand in Englewood's Mackay Park, City Police Chief Arthur O'Keefe said at a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Teaneck Facility Received Medication Linked to Deadly Meningitis Outbreak

Officials say 47 cases, including five deaths, have been reported in six states. About 1,000 New Jersey residents, some from a Teaneck doctor, given injection associated with outbreak.

A Teaneck pain specialist received medication linked to a deadly multistate outbreak of fungal meningitis, officials said Friday.

IF Pain Associates/Dr. Isaiah Florence, with an office located at 222 Cedar Lane, was one of six medical facilities in New Jersey that received the possibly-contaminated epidural steroid injections, according to the state Department of Health.
