It's sad that people can't be more productive than waiting in line for hours to save a few $ on something that they don't really need.

The next great movement in holiday retail shopping will be "Click Friday." With the trends of online and at home shopping, theres no doubt it will someday rival Black Friday as the Interne alternative on that launch day for the holiday season.

We enjoyed our Thanksgiving Day with the entire family from Grandparents through Grandchildren and friends. Three generations unfortunately not four generations. Turkey and traditional prayer before dinner. No shopping for anyone. Everyone went home last night with good memories, including the children, to build their futures on.

Same here HSR. So sad that families can't even spend a full holiday day together and enjoy their moments together. Maybe "families" just don't care about quality time....nothing in common to share with each other. Sad times,

I personally think Black Friday is ridiculous and I never take part...but just because someone does go shopping on Black Friday does not mean they don't care about their family. That's just ridiculous and incredibly judgmental...

My son and I went to Sports Authority at 10am today. His excitement mirrored Christmas as he finally got to use all the gift cards he'd received as birthday presents over the summer. He'd been wanting to make some big ticket purchases but had been hesitant to pull the trigger for a while. We were in and out in 10 minutes and he saved $90. While there, I picked up a bunch of stuff I need for all the volunteer coaching I do. I saved $90 as well.

takemethere2 - Happy to say we all had a wonderful dinner on Thanksgiving without shopping. The whole family and the Grandchildren played games after dinner. A great day for us all. And you know what we still have time for shopping and looking for good deals. But we also have good memories that you can't get back.

Wow, everyone needs to relax! This article is about Black Friday shopping, not Thanksgiving shopping! I spent a wonderful day with my family on Thursday and was out shopping on Friday! You can do both when it's 2 different days!!
