Who approved all the OT for the custodians and film crew and the BA and the lawyer????
That doesn't sound too fiscally responsible -- after all its a tremendous amount of money to NOT be spent on our children and not a reassuring start to a BOE that 4/9 new members who need to ramp up.......this smells of more deception, I can't justify this behavior ' and I usually can trace the BOE thought process- poor leadership once again.

Tracy, glad to see that you do not support the party line 100% of the time.

Lol! No I don't , I usually don't criticize the thought process if it's reasonable -- this stunt is just indulgent and reckless, and there is no need for it ti be done on a State holiday, where OT, comp time or anything else with a price tag on it needs to be paid. I hope this is not a glimpse of what is to come----

Tracy; this is a glimpse of what has been, what is and what will be! If you do not believe me, just look at the issues / incidents that the school system has been experiencing the last number of years.

I have been, fir years, i am quite outspoken about it but I also hold several degrees in education-- that is how and why I understand what is going on with a different perspective.

Anyway, The date of this meeting needs ti change--

My perspective is from the taxpayer (someone who pays for this) and is this anyway to run a business (I know the school system is not a business; but maybe it should be). Enjoy Christmas!

I don't think that they would have to discuss it if he was coming back. Looks like hes going to be milking our wallets for quite a while, or he'll be quitting.

While it may be unfortunate to absorb the costs of help involved with a BOE meeting on January 1, i.e. double time and a half for employees (if that is correct), this meeting is necessary. Better advance planning could have prevented this from becoming an issue, but that did not occur.
With four new BOE members to be oriented, with Mr. Engravalle returning on Jan. 2, preparations needed to be made for the transition. Because the agreement with Mr. Engravalle as to his L.O.A. dates was made without considering that a Jan. 2 date would create a controversial situation, this meeting was necessitated.

Yep, and then he gets pissed at people when they attack him for saying political things on his twitter. Isn't that hashtag also insulting the interim Superintendent by implying that she is not real leadership?

Billy, I don't think it referred to her at all - it referred to him getting back to himself. He went through a lot and us back......
